Here Comes the Elephant

Here Comes the Elephant.....Let's Protect our Crops" is based on WRCS's work in North Kanara District in Karnataka, India. The film demonstrates the use of simple, low-cost techniques for reducing crop damage by elephants. After four years of working in the area, we believe that community-based crop protection is a potentially powerful initiative that can help in reducing crop damage by elephants and in generating better prospects for elephant conservation in their home-range. Although many farmers in the area are now following these techniques, many more need to join in to make a significant reduction in crop loss. For those attempting to try the methods in the field, please follow the precautions listed in the film. This work is implemented by Wildlife Research and Conservation Society and is supported by Asian Elephant Conservation Fund.
